Sorry if this has been posted numerous times, but I searched, and couldn't find an answer.
Tried to install Mandrake 9.2 that I downloaded and burned onto 3 CDs.
During the install (@cd3), when it said something like 10 seconds left, it is just hanging. (was taking a shower meanwhile, so I wasn't watching.
Tried again, and this time I came back, and it was hanging @cd2.
What gives? Read today that It could be because, in bios it is set to PnP yes, which I will try to change, when I get home. Any other ideas?
I'm currently using WinXp, and I have a 17GB partition free. How do you suggest I split it up? (what "names" or designations do the partitions need? (like / /root /usr /temp etc.))
Using Asus AN8X rev2 nforce2 ultra latest bios (i think thats the name)
Maxtor 120GB SATA
512 MB RAM.
Other info needed, just ask.
Tried with APIC disabled and PnP disabled, and also select individual packages, was watching it install this time around. As it came to asking for CD 2 or 3 (cant remember) mouse was moving, then bang, mouse froze. I could still open drive and insert next CD, but still couldn't move anything. Had to Reset again.
Iim slowly giving up here.
NOTE> It takes a loooong time to download 3 ISOs on an 8 KB/sec isdn.
