If you have access to an Ubuntu machine, go to System > Administration > USB Startup Disk Creator. It will do what you need.
If not, use Unetbootin, or you could also google how to do it with lots of command line magic, but there are graphical tools that do it too.
Shudder I had to do it the command line way when trying to get Gentoo on my netbook recently. I did not even know someone had made a program to do it for you......
