Updating with YUm I do not know
But I do know a work around
Down load firefox 3 in you,re home/dir
Untar firefox
It will create a folder called firefox
In a subfolder I think it is bin you find a shellscript ,link it to you,re desktop, and you have firefox 3
You,re bookmarks are also copied to firefox3

all the best

If everything is going the way it should it has created in you,re home/dir a folder called firefox
If you click ones on this folder you see a lot of sub folders and files.
One of the files is a shell script this the one you should use

all the best

you need to adjust the link on your desktop to point to the new folder. it will/should continue using your old data and keep the book marks.

so right click, properties, location, /home/user/firefox/firefox and that should do it.

i told you already. see above.

yes FF3 works great for me. i was able to install it on several Linux systems. (2x Sabayon, 1x Debian, 1x CentOS4 + 2 OSx systems) all with no problems.

for the Linux systems i did exactly as mentioned above... oh and BTW those are the directions on the Mozilla site.

dubey, you just need to point to the CORRECT firefox with the FULL path.

do not just type firefox as that is keyed to your older install of the application.

./full/path/to/firefox3 and that should do the trick. see above.

ask it which firefox you are using:
Code:
which firefox
else type in
Code:
./firefox
to ensure you are using the firefox in the present working directory.
