Install Fedora 7 on PPC Mac Mini
Hello,
I have an older Mac Mini that I would like to install Fedora 7 on. The problem is I am only able to burn CD's and not a DVD. The PPC version of Fedora is only available as a DVD ISO (there is no Live version available either). I think it is possible to do an install from the rescue cd, but I do not know how to do that. Anybody have any advice or webpages I can take a look at? Thanks |
ok, i figured the first part out. all i had to do at the boot prompt was type "linux" and it started the install. my new problem is that it asks me where the installation files exist and i select ftp and then enter the following information:
FTP Site Name: mirrors.kernel.org Fedora Directory: /fedora/releases/7/Fedora/ppc/os I have tried adding a trailing slash, removing the first slash, and all combinations and it still says that it failed to download the install image. Has anybody seen this before? |
