Install ATI drivers
 

I want to get the drivers for my ATI radeon 9800 Pro, when I go to ATI's site they have a check.sh script to run to see what version of Xfree86 you're running, well when I try and run it like ./check.sh I get a permission denied error, this is running as root. What am I doing wrong here? anyone? Does mandrake use Xfree86?

Yes, Mandrake does use XFree86. XFree86 is the core graphical backend which Gnome, KDE and so on use to display their windows and graphics.

The script you have downloaded does not have execute permissions yet. Set the execute permission by typing chmod +x check.sh, or just type sh check.sh to launch it (without actually making the file executable).
