Install A sinhala font to ubuntu 9.04

I tried to install a sinhala font to the directory USR/SHARE/TRUETYPE/. But I couldn't copy the font to that directory. Because it is read only.

You have to be root or use sudo to do that.

hi, im new to the site...

I am also in need of installing sinhala fonts to my Notebook, which runs Ubuntu 9.04

any help ????

Welcome to LQ.
It has already been mentioned where to copy fonts and how you need to do that. Also there is a mention of sudo that will allow you copy fonts in a directory that is owned by root.
