Inquiry:How to try for drive duplication on RedHat 7.2 server ?


Dear All
Can you please do me favor and let me know how can I try for drive duplication on my RedHat 7.2 server ? Please be informed that my RedHat 7.2 has one IDE HDD drive that I want to copy it (drive duplicate) on another same HDD . Please be informed that the HDD model is as IC25N020ATMR04-0 .

dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb

should do it.

If you want to clone a drive then you should keep in mind that it should be done with care. Not just the HDD but complete hardware set of the system be identical. Otherwise the cloned system may not work for driver issues.

are you planning to upgrade this UNSUPPORTED operating system
there have been NO SECURITY updates to 7 in MANY MANY YEARS

Thank you very much for your reply . Please be informed that the two HW are identical . Please let me know how to try for disk cloning ?
