Hi Friends,

I have understood wat a inode is, But where does it get stored, can we be able to configure it? How much space it uses?

Can anyone clear my doubts....

Inode is a data structure used in UNIX filesystems. They keep information about files (name, owner, permissions etc). The size varies from one filesystem to another. You can browse through inode size (and other Ext2/Ext3 details) when you run dumpe2fs.
