inetd.conf file is missing

Hi,
I have linux 2.6.18 installed on my machine.I am trying to configure a cvs server in my machine. But I am not finding inetd.con or xinetd.conf in my system. Also I don't have inet service under /etc/rc.d/init.d/ to start/restart inet service. What should I do?I have not installed the OS.So I don't know if I have to give any options before installing. Thanks

Which is it: you have installed, or you have not installed?

Try this:
Code:
find /etc -type f | xargs grep inet
or this
Code:
 find /etc -type f | grep inet
to find anything with the string 'inet' in /etc.
