indicator flash disk didn't turn off


when i umount flash disk from terminal, it indicator didn't turning off. But when i click its icon, it said it had been mounted. But the fact, the indicator still turn on, so is it safe to remove my flash disk?

Well, if it blinked, it would be worse. If your computer claims that drive is synced and unmounted, it is probably safe to remove it. It is probably using light as in "on = powered, blink=read/write". Flash drive has no method of knowing if you will change your mind, remount it and write some more.

No, it is not blinking. Its indicator is still same like in on mode. So it is ok?

Is should be OK, but I would use the "eject" command instead. You should even see the icon disappear then.

The light staying on is normal behaviour.

No, the icon didn't dissapear from the desktop. I am afraid that my method was wrong. But when i clicked its icon, it was said like my flash disk not plugged in the usb port. Is it still ok?

Type in "mount" or "cat /etc/mtab" in the console and see if that device is listed. If it isn't it should be OK to remove it.
