Increase my root partition size?

Hey guys, im new to Linux and really enjoying Suse 10.1 (Open Edition) - I have run into a small problem, my root partition is too small (It has filled up way more than I thought it would) - so with Partition Magic I resized my Windows partition to give me 10GB more space and this space is now available to be formatted or whatever, how would I go about adding that to my root partition?

Is your root partition LVM? If it is not, you should shift the free space so that it is below the root partition, then you can use Partition Magic to expand it to fill up the space.

Hi, Im not 100% sure if it is LVM, I presume it is, as in when I run LVM all the partitions show up there...so if it is then I can resize my root partition with that to use the free space at the end of the disk ? and if I were to go about moving the free space so its under the root partition, would that be a complicated procedure...?
