inability to load openSUSE from DVD downloaded iso
I've been trying to download and install/run openSUSE for several months. I've successfully done this with other distros but no joy with openSUSE. I'm running basically Ubuntu 14.10 on a Compaq Presario laptop and an amd64 based tower. Can't get it to go on either one. Download iso then burn to either thumb drive or dvd, 32 and 64 bit versions. On boot up the splash logo screen comes up then nothing. I see two .exe files on the burned disk, does this mean it only can be booted from a Windows machine? BTW, I've done this with Kubuntu, Fedora, Zorin, Ubuntu and Mepis successfully.
Thanks for any insights.
