In Fedora, which directory usually contains the Linux kernel?

Dear All,

In Fedora, could you tell me which directory usually contains the Linux kernel?

Cheers,

That's the source code from which one builds a kernel. It is NOT the kernel.

Hmmm. When I looked for a Wireless module to see if it was included in Fedora 14 kernel running live I looked in
Quote:
/lib/modules/2.6.35.6-48.fc14.i686/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rtl818x/rtl8187.ko
in case the OP is trying to see what is installed and can be enabled in kernel.

Never installed Fedora because when I did a

Quote:
localhost ~ $ su
localhost liveuser $ modprobe rtl8187.ko
FATAL: Module rtl8187.ko not found.
Even though it showed as a module in the file structure. Figured Fedora 14 was just being flaky. Just my opinion. I know. Mileage varies.
