In car computer (carputer)
 

I have recently decided that i want to install a computer in my car and have began putting my hardware together but that is nothing without software.
I am looking for the fastest boot-up time i can get as it is going to replace my stereo, and i want a good system to play music and video.
I have only used Linux a few times and i have never really had the time to get too involved in it so i was hoping that the community can give me some help, as i can see alot of obstacles in the future.
Any help or links to other projects would be fantastic.

I thought about doing this exact same thing for my work van. I saw a book (at Borders?) that basically went through the whole setup step by step. I can't for the life of me remember what it was though. I know it had something about geeks in the title. I'm pretty sure that they used all MS software though too, though I could be wrong.
