Importing MS Outlook Contacts into Evolution

I want to import all my contacts from MS Outlook into Evolution.
When I exported them from Outlook I saved them as a CSV (Comma Separted ?).

I tried the using Evolution but it doesn't yeild any results. Does anyone have some suggestions?

What does that mean?

Have you tried "File > Import" on Evolution?

I don't currently have Evolution installed but I found this in their user's guide:

Importing Contacts
You can import contacts from other contact management tools with the Import tool.
1. Click File > Import.

The File > Import ... is the first thing I tried, but it doesn't seam to handle .csv, .xls, or .mdb files. From the look of it Evolution will handle email. It's just the contact thing is limited.

you should try first to import your data into "Kontact" (this is the KDE equivalent to Ximian Evolution and is usually installed by default) because this one is able to handle your format.
Then you export again in a format that is understood by the evolution import feature (e. g. ldif LDAP format).
Finally you import the file into evolution.

not very elegant but effective
