.img writing on Xandros?

Hey Everyone,
I'm more or less a complete xandros newbie, and I recently took delivery of an EEE pc with it installed. I have since decided that I'd like to install the netbook remix of ubuntu on my netbook, because xandros is just too simplistic for me.

Anyhow, I downloaded the .img file from ubuntu, and everything was good. However, I don't know how to make xandros write it onto a pen drive that i can boot from, and this is where i am stuck. I tried usb-imagewriter from Ubuntu as xandros is based on debian, but I couldn't seem to make it install, and attempting to run it from the command line resulted in nothing.

I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone can give me on this, I just need to make the file bootable, Im okay from there on.

Many thanks!
George

sudo dd if=<filename>.img of=/dev/sd<#>

Where the device # is for the pendrive and filename is the name of the file you have downloaded. You want to write to the disk device itself so you can boot from it.
