Question Images too small in file upload

Hello everyone

I have a question.
Firstly, I am running linux mint 15 with the cinnamon DE on a 64-bit system.
Whenever I want to upload an a file, particularly an image, my images are in "list mode" and are too small to see.
Instead of having my images in list mode, i'd like a preview of the images so I don't have to sift through each one individually.

I have no way of testing this, as I'm not running Mint right now, you might want to take a look at gthumb.

Thanks frankbell, I'll check it out. I did bit of research outside of LQ and found out it was the GTKfilechooser that was to blame. I really do hope that there is an alternative to GTK at all.

I suspect this issue can be dealt with through configuration. GTK has been an overall positive contribution to the community.

Which browser are you using?

In case it helps, my workaround when I run into this is to preview images in my file manager; I always have it running any way.

Yeah, I have it that way too, except it doesn't preview when i'm uploading or saving files.

I'm running Mozilla Firefox.

I did a bit more research and found that I can preview with KDE using "Konquerer" or "Opera" (only when using KDE), but firefox doesn't seem to work, it still uses the GTK file dialogue.

I googled around a bit (search string "preview image uploads firefox") and, yes, it does seem to be an issue with many Firefox users.

Sorry I don't have a fix.
