im thinking about getting yellow dog linux 6.1 for ps3 but dont want to spend 99$ i


Is their anything better please be unbiased in awnser

I don't know about 6.1 but here is a link for 5.0.

yellowdog !

You need to know that there isn't a version of flash that you can install so you wont be able to view any flash content e.g (youtube) on your browser.

Ok guys, the OP states that he does not have a computer, so he can't download these thing himself...

There are places online that sell linux CDs for a fee, but I don't know if any will carry YDL for PS3.

Do you have a friend who could donwnload it and burn it for you?

i do but should i get ydl or is there something better i would pay $20 to $30 for a good os disk

i just want a disk to pop in and install easely because i got a fedorra 9 ppc but it will not install

Well, I know for a fact that Ubuntu will install onto a PS3. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/8.10/release/ if someone can download it for you. Go for the "Playstation 3 Alternate Install CD", not the server one. Also, http://psubuntu.com/ is a good resource for Ubuntu on PS3

i got an email saying i need to have kboot but the web link says i need to insert storage media do i have to create a file on a cpu or can i do it with a ps3

I know that this is solved but the ps3 allready runs on a linux kernel or at least has a linux back bone
