im running evolution on fedora i can send but cannot receive email


im running evolution on fedora i can send but cannot receive email
i am using fedora 10 and i am trying to use it get email from hotmail

Maybe a bit more information might be in order. How have you configured Evolution to be a pop3 client? I have no experience with hotmail. Does it offer a pop3 server for example? Maybe you should post what you put as the account settings for hotmail in your evolution client.

Sending and receiving email are two distinct processes. Being able to send emails means that your network access to the outside world is correct. So it's certainly some setting related to your POP3 settings (incoming mail). AFAIK Hotmail is a web based mail thing, and in that case you don't need to bother with an email client, but rather you have to use your browser to access those emails.
