If you have a PCI sound card, should you disable the on-board sound card?
Details I have an old SoundBlaster Live sound card that I have ran forever, but my ABIT motherboard has a build on sound card as well. I have read to disable the on-board sound card in the BIOS if your going to use a PCI sound card and this solves some issues trying to get ALSA to work in Slackware 10 Kernel 2.4.26 Thank you for reading this post. |
If you want to use the Soundblaster, I'd advise disabling the onboard sound.
If you decide to go with the Soundblaster, you shouldn't have too much trouble configuring it. |
