ies4linux problems

I am running PCLinuxOS 2007 and have installed "IES4Linux" because i need to access Internet Explorer only websites. I installed: cabextract and wine via Synaptic Package Manager. After the install was complete i rebooted the computer and ies4linux started as soon as i clicked on it. The only problem is whenever i try to surf the web i keep getting the following error messages:

a) Cannot Find Server
b) The page cannot be displayed

And if i close ies4linux i cannot re-open it unless i reboot

Could someone help me please!

I know that I'm not really answering your question, but if you want to view IE-only sites, I would really recommend this:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59
It's a firefox add-on that lets you selectively tell web sites that you are running IE, even when you're not. I've never seen a modern page which actually couldn't render on Firefox, the site just blocks you based on the user agent.

I'm not sure what the default browser on PCLOS is, but Konqueror has the same thing built in, but slightly less convenient. It's just Tools->Change Browser Identification.

I have installed various IEs4Linux before, and I can promise that you'll have fewer headaches in the long run if you just tell your browser to "lie".

Any web developer in this day and age that makes their websites for IE only should be banned from making web sites

"Please, don’t use any of these IEs to navigate!! Get Firefox."

But anyway ies4linux is kind of a very limited tool.
If you really must do IE, a standard MS IE6 should install into wine.
