ieee80211-1.2.16 configuration

Not a total n00b questions but,

While configuring an IPW2200 card (eth0) on a tablet PC, I inadvertently answered 'y' to 'remove files?' during 'make'(ieee80211-1.2.16) . When 'make install' is executed, those half-dozen files are shown missing from /lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2869.fc6/build, and the command errors out. (make:*** [modules] Error 2)

Is a reload a fresh kernel/FC6 install necessary to recover those files (since FC6 has internal support for ieee80211 by default) or can I simply install a new ieee80211 .rpm package from repo?

That wireless card has been supported by the kernel since 2.6.15 or 2.6.16, regardless of distro. How ever you got the source where you ran make, (tar file?) simply extract again, rerun make and be done with it.

You do need firmware to get that card to work, but maybe that's included with the .rpm you spoke of.

Peace,
JimBass
