IBM T30 Debian Wireless Issues
 

I'm still very much a n00b to linux, I have been tinkering for nearly two years, with every distro from DSL, OpenSuse, PCLOS, Ubuntu(K&X), Mepis, etc. Ive decided I like debian based distros the best, for package managment ease, Ive also finally decided I enjoy KDE over any other WM. I decided instead of jumping around distro's every week, I would go right to the core, i did a net install of debian etch, I did a net install using my Aironet cisco wireless card, (it asked me for my primary internet card) all went well and dandy booted, wireless working, installed new kernal 2.6X(if i remember right) reboot no wireless, Knetworkmng doesnt even see my wireless card, I check to see if its enabled and all that jazz from control center, all seems to be fine and dandy, check the Kwifi manger and that seems to be connected to the access point, I can connect to the router at 192.168.1.1 but no internet activity.

So I got frustraited and downloaded all the DVDs installed from that, once again works fine and dandy untill reboot. Once again, reinstalled debian via web on ethernet as eth0 as my primary net card, W00t! tested worked Knetmanager even sees my wireless card YAY! test it before i take it home, made sure i could connect to acess point at work, with wep, etc rebooted several times. Works great, take it home, nothing. I tinkered and tinkered with the network setting (even reset my router) got it to work, knetworkmng no longer see's my wireless and i reboot nothing, and now i have just gotten extreamly annoyed and really wanna run debian and not an offspring.

Im at work and cant give any spacifics, however if anyone has any ideas, i would be greatful and i can post more info if needed when i get home thanks

can you get us the information on what is the card present ?

Once again im at work :cry: but when i get home i will take the time to re-install debian (sense i removed it and installed kubuntu (sense i needed the net ASAP) Some reason i think that it may be a kernal upgrade that is screwing my wireless card up. (its a aironet cisco card) but i will get you lspci info as soon as possible. Sorry this is taking so long.
