i845 chipset

Hi, I want to download SUSE 10.0, but I don't know which category to chose my download from. The categories for architecture are: x86, x86-64, and PPC (Power PC). I have a Intel i845G rev. B1 chipset, and I don't know which architecture category that falls into. Someone please tell me ASAP.

If you have a PC, then your architecture is either x86 or x86-64. The PowerPC architecture refers to the Mac as in Apple computers. It will be the microprocessor in your computer that will determine whether you have an x86 or x86-64 architecture. The x86-64 architecture is newer. I suspect that if you download the x86 SUSE version and you have an x86-64 architecture, then it will still work. So, you might want to start with the x86 SUSE.

If you have 64 bit architecture, ie: AMD Athlon64, Sempron64, Intel PentiumD or CeleronD, you want to use the x86-64 flavor of SuSE. x86 (32 bit) will work on 64 bit ( they are backward compatible) but if you have the equipment, why not use it??
