The GUI is based on your installation type. Default installation type is minimal install, which does not include a GUI.

Check that you downloaded the correct ISO from Red Hat. It should be the Binary DVD, not the Boot ISO.

Cool Red Hat ISO

You're only going to get an evaluation ISO from Red Hat that lasts 30 days and has no GUI, that's how Red Hat makes that chedder$$... You should install CentOS 7, same exact GUI and basically same kernal, for free

If you want Red Hat then pay for it. It is a good company and offers good support.

If you want a similar distro then as above, CentOS, or Oracle linux or Scientific linux would be almost the same.

You need a subscription for access to the repositories of RHEL, this should include the ISOs. If you donīt have this, I recomend you a CentOS OS. As un1x says.

You can check this guide:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7/html/Installation_Guide/chap-download-red-hat-enterprise-linux.html

If you donīt have the suscription, canīt install the official packets in your host (I think).

Echoing Jefro's sentiment: if you want Red Hat, versus Centos, then you must pay for it ... and-d-d-d... you will get(!) what you pay for.

Red Hat's business model since day-one was subscription-based, and that's one reason why they remain a profitable and successful company. Theirs is a very comprehensive system which requires little Linux-specific knowledge to run successfully, and they will keep your corporation's support-costs low and manageable because they are already assured of a steady stream of residual income. They quickly built up a good reputation, and it's not simply because I'm an IPO-shareholder that I recommend them.

Wink

The problem is, paying for a Linux distribution especially against everything our parents taught us. Unless you're running an enterprise infrastructure, CenOS will give you what RHEL 7 will, and you still get to keep your principles.

"CenOS will give you what RHEL 7" Not exactly true. CentOS will give you some of what you get when you compare to RH. RH doesn't offer all it's technology and of course none of it's service for free.

RH has an enterprise level product and service. It may be worth it to pay for it. I know we have thousands of copies of it.
