So you need to install a package which contains LT_INIT, likely to be libtool.

In future, please try to provide us with more information, and error message and a distro tells us very little.

Reading the man page on the yum command will tell you how to use it. And CentOS is a server-class distro...as such, many packages don't update quickly, since server-class distros are very highly tested because they need stability. Either use the version of libtool that is already in the repositories, or compile a new one from source at your own risk.

The better question is, what features do you NEED from 2.4.2 that you don't get in 2.2.6??
