I seem to lose my file when I minimize it

When I minimize a program, like my web browser, it doesn't minimize to, or show up in the task bar. I have to re-start the file or web browser. Is there a way to see and restore a running file, and what would I need to do to fix this.
I'm using Suse 10.0. Thanks.

Hi Xena,
Well I don't know how i lost my tasks from being listed in the task bar, but to get them back, I right clicked on the task bar, chose 'add to panel' then 'applet' then selected 'task bar'. (You'll find a bunch of neat items in this list).
This returned my running program to the task bar.
However, I also found by 'adding to panel' then 'special button' and selecting 'Windows List' does the same thing, but keeps the task bar a bit cleaner.
