I seem to have installed java twice


Java shows installed in Mozilla Plug-ins, but does not work.

rpm -e does not work

how about you actually expand on, and backup, these statements... have you created the symlink to your browsers plugin directory?

Just out of interest - you posted a lot of information but I can't see what makes you think it is installed twice. Am I missing something?

What's this "ls -l" all about? Use "rpm -q j2sdk" to find out what java rpms are installed. For mozilla, you need a symlink to libjavaplugin_oji.so in the plugins directory.

I had transcribed the incorrect number in the symbolic link.
