Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,

Have you given the fact that your teacher might also be a member of LQ a thought? We will not do your homework for you, if you cannot find the answers yourself then you need to study and try more. It's against the LQ rules to post homework just as it is and you'll not find lots of help here.

Exercise 1:
Look into output redirection and the sort command, or even the man pages of ls.

Exercise 2:
Have a look at awk and sort.

Exercise 3:

Kind regards,

Eric

Per the LQ Rules, please do not post homework assignments verbatim. We're happy to assist if you have specific questions or have hit a stumbling point, however. Let us know what you've already tried and what references you have used (including class notes, books, and Google searches) and we'll do our best to help. Also, keep in mind that your instructor might also be an LQ member.

Above is the standard response. In addition do not edit your original post in response to another post. In this case, it was particularly rude since Eric* actually gave you some good help.

Please feel free to start another thread which meets the guidelines above.
