Excuse me to post the fonts small ,its my second day on linuxquestions, just i want to sure is the configuration is well on my os and i didnt miss anything .
So the output say there is aswap is active on system Right? just i have 2 questions please
1-why the swap always usage 0 ? ( please look at the output of free m command)
2-i added only one line in /etc/crypttab its the /dev/sda2 luks uuid is this enough to activate the swap on boot?

i want to refere to something i install the encryption by away it make me just created 2 partions by gparted

1- /dev/sda1 (boot)
2- /dev/sda2 (unformatted)

under /dev/sda2 all the encrypted /dev/mappers and i added only /dev/sda2 uuid in /etc/crypttab so i enter the password one time

Swap may not be needed in some instances due to the amount of RAM that a pc has.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Sw..._being_used.3F
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1033573

Looking at the output:
Code:
#swapon -s
Filename Type Size Used Priority
/dev/dm-7 partition 8388604 0 -1
Yes, it's being used by the system.

I wish I knew why the usage is zero; sorry:-

It could be that:

Ideally the operating system should have enough RAM that no swapping to disk is required.

Looking at http://thesimplecomputer.info/full-d...on-with-ubuntu
it seems to say that you can't delete, change or resize any partitions.

An 8GB PC would only use swap in very unusual circumstances.
A runaway program could cause problems - if you have swap you just have more leeway.
