I have read the other threads related to my issue, but i think i have lost my whole brain!!!! lol....i couldnt follow. If possible, could someone please assist me. step by step...if anyone has the time and patience to help a computer challenged person as myself. thanks
I'm sure there will be enough patience in all of us as long as there's some willingness in you as well It would be helpful, though, if you could describe the problem in MUCH more details.
Let's start with the following:
1. Which distro
2. Wireless or Wired?
3. Are you connected through a router?
4. What's the output of ifconfig and iwconfig?
And some more depending on your answers to the above.
ok...let me see if i can answer these question.
1. which distro...(i dont know), where would i go to check the distro?
2. wireless or wired....i am trying to connect wired to ubuntu. (i also have enlightenment or enlightment installed (macpup) where i can connect to the internet with no problem)
3.connected with a router? no i am connected with a modem
4. What's the output of ifconfig and iwconfig? now i dont know what the output for those are...how do i find the output?
I will try as hard as i can to assist you with whatever info you need. thanks
OK, you seem to be running Ubuntu (that's what you mentioned in the title). To identify which release(eg. 10.04, 10.10, 11.04, etc.), please have a look at this article and report back. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ch...rUbuntuVersion
@snowpine...i have tried the simple way of connecting and it doesnt work for ubuntu...
@sycamorex..i will look at the article and report back in a few min.
