I would boot again with the the boot disk and try to delete all existing partitions, reformat, and reinstall. I had to do this a few times when I was installing Mandrake. The harddrive had WinME on it before Mandrake and it took deleting all partitions and then reinstalling. Hopefully someone else has a better solution than mine. Good luck.

From what I see, it looks like your error is very vague, but if you save the crash dump, the people look helpful...

yeah I rebooted and deleted all existing partitions. This time Im not using the GUI and everything seems to be going ok....for now.

I installed red hat 8.0

Well, it just goes to show you that GUI, though pretty, and "user friendly", does not always mean easy.
