I need some advise on Linux / Windows Domains. Thanks
Hello LQ
I have been working with Linux for a few years now and would like start implementing more advanced tasks. We have a Microsoft network at my work. All the clients & servers run Microsoft except my desktop witch runs Ubuntu. My long term goal is to have all the servers and clients move over to a "Linux Domain" It would seem i would start with a mixture of both operating systems then gradually start moving over to Linux. Although, I dont intend to use Samba as PDC and would prefer to setup a seperate "domain" consisting of Linux servers & clients only. I have read about NIS & NFS and was wondering will it be worth it in the long term. A few examples with Windows domain: 1) Group Policy 2) Software publishing 3) Remote desktop What suggestions do you propose on the way forward? Your feedback will be highly appreciated and keep up the good work with the website. Cheers Marios |
Additionally, could I use something like Webmin to Administer the system?
