I need help finding out last 4 digits of a persons personal ID

How can I determine the gender of a user on basis of the last 4 digits in that persons personal ID?
I don't know what to write in the text editor...should I write $set in the terminal? but it doesn't seem right....

Last 4 digits of what?

Your post isn't really clear about anything(at least to me).
