i need help choosing distribution!

I need help choosing a distribution for a linux machine that i want to install:

this distribution must have the possibility of changing all the bootsplash images (i'm new and i'm not able to recompile kernel)
it must also be able to manage rpm packages (i need some utilities)
it must install X11 support (i used xinit for launghing my application)
it must have ssh telnet service

I have played with suse 9.2 and it find the best for runlevel editor but it lack for bootsplash (Seems need recomplite kernels)
I have played with fedora 3 and bootsplash seem an x environment.
now i'm playing with mandrake.
i have tried also others but everytime i get stuck in some point!

there is a distro for little machines that is so user friendly for installing olny this features (i have 2 gb hdd)

thankS!

This would appear to be what your after - a bootsplash patch for fedora core 2 which does not use rhgb. http://hackers.progeny.com/~sam/Fedo...00-README.html

However - if you don't mind having X around, have a gander at this discussion: https://www.redhat.com/archives/anac.../msg00026.html

Might give Mepis a try ... It was designed to be user friendly. I think you can chage the bootsplash, I am not at home or I would try it. Go to www.mepislovers.org and ask, I am sure they could tell you. Also it uses Deb instead of Rpm and it comes with pretty much everything you could ever want. :) But also has lots of utilities including two package mangagers, kpackage and Synaptic.

Might be what your looking for.

Thanks for the answers!
I finally got a mandrake installation running.
It comes with bootsplash precompiled kernel and even is not really easy to chanche the images i should successfully manage it.
