i need help


alright here is the thing first off i am a total newbie to linux i was booting my linux and i got this message

VFS: cannot open root device 03:07
Kernel Panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on 03:07

i have no freakin idea wht this means ok seriously it wont continue to boot all i wanna do is boot the stupid machine so please help me PLEASE AHHHH!! thanx fer all the replies

well, for some reason the root filesystem can't be mounted because it can't be opened! you probably have a corrupt installation. is this the first boot, or rather, has it booted before?

well i had put in my SUSE LILO boot sector disk rite and when i tried to boot the machine it gave me that kernel panic thing when i try to boot linux linux 2.4 or SUSE

your installation is corrupt. you have to install it again thr ight way.
