i need a starting point :l

i've been searching the web for some nice comprehensive guide to linux as a whole. i'm looking for something that assumes i know nothing about the subject, and isn't just a command and argument list. any links yall could provide would be appreciated i don't use my pooter for anything heavy.. i don't run databases or mail servers or run a business off it or anything. i just use it for day to day web stuff, and playing games. i'm going to be running suse, on a amd64, with a radeon 9800pro.

Well, you have started in a good place already... I would say if you have the SUSE disks then just install it... You will learn more in the process then you would from a guide... If you have any problems then post them here and we will help...

If you want just a beginers guide... That's easy...

Or even, go to and type "RUTE" (minus the quotes). You should also look at - the have a number of Linux documents and help guides there.
