I need a picture screensaver. nothing else. now, what distro to use?

first, i guess i'd be considered a noob to linux. I want to take all my dad's photos (lots. over a million photos from over the years. all on cd) put them on a big hard drive, and set an old junk computer up with a mounted monitor, that will run thorugh them all automatically like the 'my pictures' screensaver. i've got all the hardware that i'll need, but i'm not sure what the easiest distro would be to set this up on. and also, if there is any software that anyone knows about that would cater to my needs.

xscreensaver has the function you need, and will run on (and comes with) most distros.

thank you both for your responses! I've decided on using my most familiar distro, kubuntu, and use the screensaver or slideshow program pre-installed with it. thanks for your advice!
