I installed java plugins and flash in mozilla 1.6 but still cant view web pages

HI !

i'm new to linux, i have red hat 9 and win xp on my system........my problem is with internet(LAN) and mozilla, in order to activate my NET i have go to my internet service provider' s web page.......ya know typing the gateway in the browser(192.25..ect) and then download the client from their web site and install it........but i get an "invalidbrowser.html" and "supported by I.E 5 or higher" when i enter my gateway in the browser (i use mozilla 1.6).........I downloaded j2sdk1.4.2_04 and flash 6 using win xp, copied it on cd and installed java in linux and set up a link to /mozilla/plugins

ln -s /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavapligin_oji.so

i unzipped install_flashpalyer_6_linux.tar and used mv command

mv libflashplayer.so /usr/local/mozilla/plugins

and then i check them in the mozilla browser......help/about plugins and all java plugins and flash plugins were there, enabled

my problem is that still i cant view my ISP's web site, when i enter my gateway 192.25.0.1 in mozilla browser still i get an "invalidbrowser.html" and "supported by I.E 5 or higher"

please HELP ME.

thank you

try this...

try to use

/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavapligin_oji.so

launch mozilla from console and see output error.

Search around here for a bit. There is a thread which speaks of a lib file or something that needs to be updated, after which everything miraculously works! I had all the same issues, everything seeemed to be installed, the browser even showed it in the plugins, but nothing worked. Until I found that thread...

I wish I could remember what the updated file was, so I could give yu a better string to search for. I think it started with lib, and had tow plus signs in the name (++). Search for that, you'll get it...

Good luck!
