i have no usb or cdrom. but i want to install debian


sorry friends.
i have a laptop which consists of pentium 4 and ubuntu 9.10
but i would like to install debian linux. but sorry friends there is no
usb or cdrom. but only i have lan internet.
what to do?

this doable a couple ways

Need to know how much hard drive space you have
and do you have any empty partitions?

take this question as a challenge ok guys.
now.

i usb damaged. my cdrom damaged. its pentium 4. my ubuntu is working well. anyway i just want to know..
like download the iso of debian and .... how to install the iso automatically from the ubuntu distro???
yup i do have 40 gb space. i am ready to delete all the datas of ubuntu .
i got only 256 ram

I think Debian had a net install option last time I tried it. Or did it? Might have been another distro.

Not a big deal. Some bootable media can boot to some linux. Any linux can install another system.

Might consider network installs. Things like bootable floppy and various pxe deals exist. I'd also look at GPXE as it supports a whole nohter (Texan speak) world. Netboot.me and BKO are good examples.

Simply taking out the hard drive and using a proper working system will work too.

Can even make a working image on some system and g4u it over.

There is a way to make the ISO image bootable. It means booting from the ISO image kept on the harddisk.
