I have no debugger program?

When ever I ask my simply Mepis 6, to perform a function that it can not, it says no, by making the sound of breaking glass. That is the time when it pops a window up saying something about, K menu could not continue, and has a problem, and I should send a report to the author ( whom I wouldn't know how to find any way) however, no debugger program can be found.

So I suspect it is about time I should get one, and I would like to know, where to get this, and how to install it, please keep in mind, I am a newbie, and not a Linux geek.
I awiat your replies.

You are probably looking for gdb, though it will be of little use to you unless you are familiar with C/C++.

You do not need a debugger to send a bug report. If it a KDE app, just go to http://bugs.kde.org/
