Hi, I also use Mandrake 8.0 so I may be able to help if you give me some more info as below:
Which dialer are you using (Kppp)?
Which modem are you using i.e internal/external model etc.?
Have you double checked your modem set up and used the test function in the setup to check that the modem is working and getting a dialtone?
Let me know and I'll see what I can come up with to help you OK?
Good Luck

I have been told that msn does not support linux but i am stuck w/ an oem contract for msn till 2003 and I am trying to setup a connection too, using slackware8, ISA Modem Blaster Flash56II, DI-5601-1. I am trying to setup a script using a copy of current modem log I copied off win98se directory How did u setup your ppp? Two heads are better than one. Keep me posted and I will do the same. I get upto the login: too and then i get a message script failed.

Unhappy linux md8.0 connect to msn.

I have done some research on this problem and it seems msn disallows all browsers except ie when they are your isp!!!!!!!!!!!!! this sucks. they make a version for unix but we have linux only a linux guru would know if that is possible, maybe a lot of trouble!!!! I have decided to go with roadrunner cable with earthlink home. sorry about the oem deal , start a new thread about unix ie and see if somebody knows about this.
