I have a problem with all linux distribuutions
 

I have 4 PC connected by local area net work and they are connected to the web www under windows XP via a HUB and router Sagem 1400 given by manara service "maroc telecom" i ame in Morocco.
So whene i try to load one pc with some linux distribution live cd like fedora, i can not connecte to google and my mail in yahoo.
But i can surfe in oracle.com and www.menara.ma i can download my send files in menara mail.
My question is why some sites are blocked a lot of them and others not.

This sounds like a browser problem. Have you looked in your logs?
Usually, you'll need to view them as root. They're under /var/log. Try messages and syslog first, but there are other log entries that might contain the reason.

Ops, nevermind, I misread the original post. Just a guess: are you using a custom firewall script?

Your topic title is very misleading. You apparently are having a local problem with fedora or another distribution(S), not all Linux distributions. Maybe all the Linux distributions you have tried? :)

But your problem seems to be relative to the LAN. If you are sharing with M$ WinXP then there's part of your problem. I would suggest that since you have a hub to setup your LAN via the 'PC<->HUB<->Router/modem'. Your setup would be a lot simpler with a switch than a hub. Then connect all the PCs via the switch to your router/modem without the hub.

Is your router a NAT router with a DHCP server built in. If so, then the suggestion by onebuck will work.

If you are using windows to access the internet, is it doing the NAT or the router? Check the IP address on the Linux boxes. Check the gateway address and the nameservers on each computer. Make sure that you have XP configured to share the internet connection.

Two things to worry about. If you use XP as a gateway or router and it is infected as malware, it can spy on the traffic of the other computers as well. Using a hub instead of a switch, that is true as well. If your user on the windows machine runs with administrator rights, then you are much more likely to become infected.
