I got a postfix generic table question...
I have domain.com with 2 subdomains, a.domain.com, b.domain.com. I use the domain.com computer to relay mail out since it has a static ip. When I send mail from a.domain.com I wanted my domain.com computer to masquerade it into domain.com.
So in my /etc/postfix/main.cf I enabled smtp_generic_maps. In my generic file I have
This fixes it perfectly. However, if I send mail directly from domain.com and as root the resulting email shows root@ as the email address and obviously spam filters send mail with no domain to spam automatically. The other users from domain.com work just fine.
Should I be using a different method for this?
I also tried doing this instead
masquerade_domains = a.domain.com domain.com
masquerade_domains = b.domain.com domain.com
This works but I was left with the same issue.
