more accurately that should read "So far Red Hat 9 is..." - different distros have different install procedures and strengths/weaknesses.

Aha! Well I got it to work, that first link was useful. I needed to change the driver line from nv to nvidia in the xf86config file. This post is coming to you from an up and running red hat linux 9 os. And just to note I did try searching the forums, but perhaps I put in too many specific terms because my search did not turn up the results that post above this did.

Now to my next prob...getting my new wireless keyborad and mouse to work. But thats the subject of another post if I cant find help first. Thanks for all the help guys.
