I deleted my panel and am having trouble getting it rebuilt
I made a rather boneheaded mistake today, I deleted my main panel at the top of the screen. I created another but I am having trouble getting a few tools back on it. Mainly the 'Places', 'Administration', and 'Settings' options (I think that I worded them correctly). I of course went into 'Add to panel' but I can't seem to find those tools.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks! |
In case you delete your .gnome, .gnome2, but before that back it up. Logout and then try login in. You should have the default panel. Hope this helps.

That didn't work. Had to re-enter my WEP key though :)
But my panel still looks the way it did before I deleted .gnome/.gnome2. Thanks for the try though |

If so they are actually a single panel object called "Menu Bar" with the description "A custom menu bar". To add this just right click on the panel and select "add to panel", scroll down to it click and click. It's worth noting that the "Main Menu" option is the gnome default and is different to the afore mentioned "Menu Bar". |
That was it exactly! Thanks, that did the trick
