k, I downloaded Kubuntu and burned it on a CD using NERO (I bured it to be a bootable CD)
and I put it in and restarted the pc, it booted from the cd to DOS and I finally got this:
[DR-DOS]A:\>dir
Volume in drive A is DOS-BOOT
Directory of A:\
Command
DRDOS
OAK
NR
WWBMV
Readme
Autobo7
DConfig
I tried playing the cd like this
[DR-DOS]A:\>dir i:\
Volume in drive I is Kubuntu Des
Directory of I:\
Kubuntu_ ISO
[DR-DOS]A:\>
HOW DO I START THE LIVE CD OR HOW DO I START THE INSTALLATION?????????????
I HAVE NO IDEA... PLEASE HELP
First see if your computer is set to boot to CD ROM first.
Next try going back and burning the disk as an ISO I'm not sure of the settings you need for Nero...
Live CDs are an automagic process...it should start loading up the OS as soon as your computer clears POST.
No matter what software you use, pay attention to burn speed. While it might benice to burn that 700+mb file in 10sec, its asking for errors. I used to always have problems burning boot disks before someone told me this nugget of info. Now I always burn my boot disks around 2x, takes a little longer, but never a problem.
