Hello,
I've just moved your thread to Linux-Newbie. Member Intro is to say who you are etc, but questions should go to other forums.
have you tried the cd with another machine? It may be broken...If you've burned the cd yourself, have you checked the checksum (using md5summer from www.md5summer.org)?
heh i guess i am not that good at reading between the lines, cause i don't get the impression about anything being hardware related....and if your saying what if the cd is burnt correctly, well all i can say, any cd can burn correctly, but that doesn't mean that what you burnt was correct or a good image or whatever it may be...so if you don't mind blowing another 2 dollars and burn another copy of mdk off the site i suggested, and doing a md5 check first and see if its cool...well then go do that then, or you can just do what mara suggested before downloading another copy..
