I cannot download drivers for my EVGA GeForce 8400GS video card in Ubuntu 8.10.
 
Can someone please help me?

I am trying to download the "NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (version 177) from the hardware drivers, but I keep getting this error: "SystemError: Failed to lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock" or it won't download.

Is there anyway to fix this? I just got Ubuntu today and I'm still configuring it a bit.

Exactly how are you trying to download the drivers?

Never mind, I think I may have fixed it. All I did was update Ubuntu (293 updates by the way.) and restarted it.

Yeah, it's fixed. Thanks for wondering though.
