I can't create a wireless connection with Mandrake 10.1
Hello !
I apologise in advance if this question has already been answered, if it has, I've been unable to find it.
I recently installed Mandrake 10.1 on my old crappy PC. I chose Mandrake because I don't know anything about Linux (well, I'm getting a bit better, after 2 days of searching the internet for a way to solve my problem, but it's still complicated). The installation went very well, and I was quite happy, until I tried to connect to my home network using my Netgear WG311 PCI card. It used to work quite well with windows XP.
Now, I know I need a driver for this card, which is called madwifi_pci. When I go to New Connection in the Controle Center, I select 'wireless connection', it says I need to manually load a driver and gives me a list of drivers. I select madwifi_pci, a window opens saying madwifi is being installed, the another window opens up and closes before I can read what it says, and I am back to "manually load driver".
Does it mean the driver is not installed ? If so, I downloaded it, but I don't know how to install it.
Thanks in advance for your help
